Overview
2fawcett have an exciting opportunity for a Customs and Import Specialist to join an innovative and growing Manufacturing company on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the purchasing department to provide key support and oversee the Import process and functions.
As the Logistics Coordinator Will Report directly to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will have previous experience planning deliveries, organising transport and any other associated Import/ Export administration tasks. They will have a positive “can do” attitude and be flexible enough to adapt to a wide range of duties in a growing business.
The Role & Responsibilities of the Import/ Export coordinator
· Organisation of all overseas import
· Obtain freight quotations from third party vendors
· Cost reduction by consolidating freight to reduce costs
· Liaison with freight providers against customs process and import of parts
· Process implementation to streamline inbound shipment procedures
· Establishment and development of commercial relationships with logistics providers
· Track freight progress and report any delays to internal teams to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules
· Work closely with the buyer on monitoring and reporting against individual suppler performance
Skills and Experience of the Import/ Export coordinator
· Strong system lead excel skills essential
· Proven demonstration of International shipping experience
· Current knowledge of UK customs clearance procedures
· Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
· Previous experience in a Shipping and logistics coordinating role
