Welcome to Ryland View Care Home in Dudley, situated three miles from the town centre and close to the Sheepwash Nature Reserve. We’re in easy reach of Birmingham New Road and M5 for drivers. If you are visiting via public transport, the Home is on the Birmingham line bus route and close to Dudley Port train station. Sandwell General Hospital is nearby too.
Residents are given a warm welcome when they arrive at our comfortable, friendly Home. .Your Duties...
- You will work with the Home Manager and other staff members to ensure day to day maintenance and improvement on the fabric of the building, it's services and the grounds, in order to provide a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Up to date knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations are a must.
- There will be an 'On call' element to the role for advice and action in the event of an emergency (this will be out of hours
- Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture / equipment and any other potential hazards to the Home Manager, who will advise accordingly.
- Carry out any decoration in all areas as and when required in order to maintain standard of Home.
- Test the fire alarm system, and log results, weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
- Ensure all ventilation units and lights are kept clean. Replace any defective light bulbs / diffusers.
- Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
- Test, and record, water temperatures as specified in Company procedures and as required for Legionella control.
- Maintain a “Maintenance Book” in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
- Assist/supervise with deliveries to the Home. Monitor delivered goods closely.
- Create and maintain an inventory of all furniture & fittings and equipment in the home and log in / out all incoming / disposals
