Role Overview & Specifications
The Corporate Vice President Fleet & Facilities is responsible for developing strategies and implementing tactics that transform fleet maintenance and operations. Additionally, the Corporate VP Fleet & Facilities is accountable for planning, developing and start-up of new operational facilities for growth; improvement and upgrade of existing facilities; management of related leases, risk mitigation, environmental compliance, and employee safety upgrades, and equipment procurement. The Corporate VP Fleet & Facilities will develop and implement standardized and sustainable planning, procurement and operational processes that meet the Company’s capital availability, return and efficiency targets. The incumbent is responsible for impacting the entire organization by delivering fleet operations standards and processes; ensuring delivery of fleet vehicles that meet the performance and safety needs of operations and enables business growth and ensures availability and effective management of operational facilities that are both efficient and that provide industry leading satisfaction for employees.

The Corporate VP Fleet & Facilities is responsible for developing and implementing specific, measurable and achievable plans for the identification, planning and deployment of fleet assets and facilities throughout the business. The work of the Corporate VP Fleet & Facilities is highly collaborative and will involve aligning stakeholders of the business, management, employees and customers to ensure inclusion, input and crisp execution.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeads the company’s fleet and facilities planning, development and purchasing efforts to meet capital deployment targets and business growth goals.Works with business operations and functional leaders to identify, prioritize and implement foundational fleet procurement and maintenance management systems and solutions that are fully vetted, meet user’s needs and scalable for growth. Works with the business operations leaders to plan and optimize fleet deployment and movements to optimize age and fleet mix and ensure fleet deployment matches peaks and valleys of location/regional demand, while maintaining customer contract compliance. Works with business operations and functional leaders to identify, prioritize and implement foundational facilities planning, development and operations/maintenance systems and solutions that are fully vetted, meet user’s needs and scalable for growth.Identifies, develops and builds Fleet Maintenance talent within the organization and uses third party resources as necessary to supplement internal capabilities and capacity during growth.Develops, maintains and leads strategic vendor relationships, communications and partnership efforts.Develops and maintains strategic plans, business continuity plans, and change management processes related to fleet and facilities planning, procurement, deployment and operations.Develops and oversees systems and processes for fleet and facilities management. Encourages a culture emphasizing safety, security and environmental compliance among all employees. Manages and provides oversight for fleet maintenance and facilities management process and operations. Identifies and maintains departmental performance metrics, projects, and is accountable for review and oversight of fleet and facility related expense forecasts and budgets. Supports and fosters an environment where 5S/Lean process improvement techniques are used to continuously improve fleet maintenance systems, processes, and procedures.Promotes and oversees relationships between the company's fleet and facilities staff and external resources, governing entities of all juristictions, and vendors. Negotiates or provides oversight for all fleet and facilities related contracts and leases, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.Develops and implements new and innovative strategies, including fleet electrification, to improve the overall efficiency and effective deployment of fleet vehicles and assets and for optimized use of all company facilities. Oversees and directs the development and implementation of fleet and facilities management policies, standards, guidelines and work instructions for the Company’s operations and employees.Participates in new contract/bid opportunities and M&A due diligence to understand, evaluate and forecast fleet and facility needs, budgets and integration plans.Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business management or similar field preferred. Minimum 10 years of relevant fleet and facilities management experience with demonstrated success and results.Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team and successfully developing people and talent.Preferred experience in school transportation operations or similar industries with large vehicle fleets within a dispersed / de-centralized organization.Experience in high growth businesses and M&A environments requiring systems, process and technology development and deployment.
