Role Overview & Responsibilities

An Engineering Manager job opportunity has arisen within a successful University in the West Midlands.

You will be reporting into the Head of Engineering & Maintenance.

Your New Role

Your main purpose of the role is to ensure the engineering systems are maintainable, energy efficient and integrate across the campus. You will be managing the Building Management System (BMS) and the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems. You will need to undertake designs of building services for projects and vet designs produced by external consultants. You will need undertake detailed investigations and surveys of the building services. You will need to undertake mechanical and electrical services inspections. You will need to assist the Building Services Technicians to undertake safe isolation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure on campus. You may need to potentially participate within an out of hours On-Call system. You will be managing the Building Services Technicians.


What You'll Need to Succeed


You will need to have a degree in a relevant field.

You will need to have experience in surveying, investigating and designing building services for the HE and /or Laboratory sectors. You will need to have knowledge and experience within mechanical and electrical engineering. You will need to have Technical understanding of the safe operation of controls systems (BMS), water and gas networks. You will need to have knowledge of energy management, metering systems and energy conservation.
