Job DutiesPay monthly, quarterly, and annual motor fuel, property, gross receipts, sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.Reconcile each return to ensure you are paying on the correct number of gallons and dollars.Respond to notices and assist with audits from states.Keep up to date on current state policies on taxation and be aware of any upcoming changes in the way the state wants the return completed and paid.Analyzes return and communicates trends of inconsistencies to Tax Director.Assist supervisor in writing policies and procedures related to compliance.Analyzes and updates tax software.
QualificationsHigh school diploma requiredBachelor Degree strongly preferred2+ years Fuel Taxes preferredMust be customer-oriented and able to communicate well with both internal and external constituencies.Must be team-player and demonstrate willingness to perform tasks not directly associated with role, including backing-up coworkers, clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned.
