About the role

We are looking for Associate Lecturers in Historical and Critical Studies in Design to join our team of existing Associate Lecturers and Establishment Staff during the academic year 2023-2024. Associate Lecturers in Historical and Critical Studies deliver teaching into the Bath School of Design degree programmes.

The successful applicants will contribute expertise across all levels of the undergraduate programmes. They will contribute particular expertise as outlined below.

The roles include seminar teaching and study skill development for levels four and five students and supervision for level six students.

About you

The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in Design, but may be particularly required to engage with Graphic Communication, Interior Design and Architecture. This should inform your teaching, scholarship and research. You will possess exceptional interpersonal, networking and communication skills. Experience of teaching on-line would be an advantage.


You may be expected to contribute to activities such as involvement with open days and public events, building appropriate links with business and the community, and you will be involved in marking, moderation and other quality assurance processes. You will enjoy full access to staff development opportunities offered by the University.
