Overview:
We are looking for Full and Part-time EAP tutors to join our teaching team delivering high-standard lessons to classes of up to 15 international students.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- Provide academic support for students, as appropriate
- Set and mark formative assessments
- Carry out administrative and record-keeping tasks associated with teaching and assessment
- (e.g. accurate attendance records, progress reports, schemes of work)
Salary
£28 - 40 per hour
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree (Essential)
- A relevant academic qualification at UK postgraduate level e.g. a Cambridge DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL or MA TESOL (Essential)
- Relevant teaching experience normally a minimum of two years. This experience should relate to the delivery of a Western-style syllabus using Western conventions and methodologies (Essential)
- An understanding of UK/western higher education and the needs and requirements of
- international students (Essential)
- Significant teaching experience at a reputable university (Desirable)
- Specific experience of education in the UK (Desirable)
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Teaching:
- · A record of achievement in teaching.
- · Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including native speaker
- fluency in English. Numerate and articulate.
- · Competence in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
- · Proven planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within curriculum
- and policy objectives.
- · The ability to contribute to study programme development.
- · The ability to set, review and mark formative and summative assessments
- published syllabus.
- · A record of attention to detail, thoroughness and fairness.
