Hewitt Farming – Assistant Farm Manager
Hewitt Farming is seeking an Assistant Manager to work as part of a team running 2 modern Free Range Laying units. We have 128,000 Laying hens over 2 sites based in Carnwath, South Lanarkshire, ML11.
*Due to the nature of the job the ideal candidate will ideally live within 30 minutes' drive from the farm*
Reporting to the Farm Manager the successful candidate will provide efficient support, be organised and have excellent time management skills as well as proven experience working within a busy environment.
Applications are invited from self-motivated individuals who are willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and cope well under pressure.
Duties include:
· Supporting the team in the day to day running of the farm to maintain high standards and safe working practices
· Covering night checks and alarm cover
· Managing and monitoring ventilation, heating, feed and water consumption as well as recording accurate data
· Ensuring the welfare of the birds is maintained at all times
Attributes:
· Previous Farming knowledge/experience essential
· Hardworking and reliable
· Willing to learn
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full time position. Must be flexible to work shift patterns covering weekdays and weekends
Salary & Holidays: Competitive / Dependent on experience
