Role Overview & Responsibilities

Laboratory Test Scientist required to join a fantastic scientific instrumentation manufacturer who have spun out from the University of Oxford. As Laboratory Test Scientist you will support the quality and manufacturing team carrying out detailed final quality checks whilst driving continuous improvement.

As Laboratory Test Scientist responsibilities include:

  • Perform molecular biological measurements of samples in solution as specified by internal test process documentation.
  • Record data in a methodical manner according to standard procedures and templates, reporting results as required in accordance with the Quality Team.
  • Work closely with members of the Manufacturing and Operations teams to ensure smooth travel of instruments through production, helping to resolve any issues observed during this process.
  • Manage and maintain stocks of test substances (proteins, DNA etc.) to ensure availability as required, and ensuring quality is optimised for use when testing instruments.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes with a view to improving success of customer installations.

Experience required:

  • Experience of management and handling of biological substances
  • Use of sampling and test equipment
  • Experience working in quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
  • knowledge of internationally recognised quality standards such as ISO9001
