You will be trained to perform analysis of various power, control and marine auxiliary systems on vessels to produce technical reports and test programmes, to ensure vessel compliance with regulatory bodies.

The DP & MC department’s main tasks involve the production of DP Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and subsequent Proving/Annual Trials programmes then attending the vessel to witness these trials programmes as an independent third party.

You will be joining a team of experienced engineers who have worked on projects worldwide. You will be trained to perform analysis of various power, control and marine auxiliary systems on vessels to produce technical reports and test programmes, to ensure vessel compliance with regulatory bodies.

The main responsibilities include:


  • Desktop analysis of electrical and control system drawings.
  • Production of Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
  • Technical report writing.
  • Production of DP Proving & Annual Trials programmes.
  • Attending vessels to witness test programmes.
  • Attending client meetings.
  • Regular travel for client meetings / onsite work.

The main requirements are:


  • Good technical report writing.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service manner.
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering or Control Systems.

The role will be based in our office in Aberdeen, mixed with home working, allowing a hybrid and flexible working environment. Attendance on vessels worldwide will also be required periodically.
