Chief Storyteller, City of Baltimore Innovation Team

What we’re looking for:

The City of Baltimore's Innovation Team (i-team) is on the lookout for a dynamic and creative Chief Storyteller. If you have a passion for showcasing the transformative impact of government initiatives and the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse stakeholders, this role is for you. We're seeking someone with a knack for pushing the boundaries of storytelling and delivering in-depth feature stories about individuals and projects within the community.

Responsibilities:

Humanizing Government:Showcase the human side of government by highlighting the positive impact of the i-team's efforts on the community.Craft narratives depicting how government initiatives actively contribute to positive change.Storytelling Expertise:Deliver in-depth feature stories about individuals and projects, emphasizing real stories of innovation.Push the boundaries of storytelling, employing creative techniques to make narratives memorable.Audience Definition:Define the target audience and tailor stories to resonate with diverse stakeholders.Clearly convey the mission of the i-team through compelling narratives.Mission Conveyance:Develop narratives that effectively convey the mission, vision, and values of the i-team.Craft stories that articulate the significance of the team's work in a compelling and relatable manner.Story Impact:Create stories that stick, ensuring they are memorable, shareable, and withstand the test of time.Develop narratives that have a lasting impact on the community's perception of government initiatives.Communication Strategy:Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the goals of the i-team.Generate content across various media platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand representation.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in storytelling, showcasing engaging and impactful narratives.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Creative flair with the ability to think outside the box in storytelling.Understanding of diverse audience segments and the ability to tailor stories accordingly.Passion for civic innovation and a deep appreciation for the positive impact of government initiatives.Ability to create and implement a communications strategy.Proficiency in generating content across multiple media platforms.
