The Company
Consilium Recruit are working with a world leader in drilling technology for cooling holes as applied to Jet Engines and Gas Turbines for energy production. Due to Growth, they are seeking a Controls Engineer to join the team in a permanent position.
The Controls Engineer Role:
- PLC Controller Programming
- Programming, managing and diagnosing communications between the CNC unit and Machine process control hardware on the EDM, Laser. Camera systems
- Develop control of I/O systems
- User Interface / HMI programming
- Basic troubleshooting of the control systems used in the production of cooling holes for Turbine blades etc.
- Meeting Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
The Person
- Experience in control systems on machine tools
- Knowledge industrial automation systems essential with specialist understanding and experience of Beckhoff control systems and hardware.
- Understand the principles behind automatic control.
- Logical and systematic approach to problem solving. Ability to share this with colleagues and customers alike.
- Knowing how to create open-loop and closed-loop control systems that enable the creation of bespoke and accurate control systems.
- Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues in an easy to understand manner.
- The Control engineer should be particularly attentive, ensuring that any programming or functionality testing they complete is reliable.
- Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
