Role Overview & Responsibilities

Hybrid x2 days a week in Chester

The Commercial Department is a new function within NextGear Capital. It leads on a wide variety of ‘top line’ initiatives that support business strategy & growth including pricing & proposition. Commercial relies on business and market insight to continuously support its Dealer, Auction & Supplier partners & to evolve the NextGear & Enterprise businesses.

Scope of the Role:

A senior business role reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be assigned to the management of a variety of data ownership responsibilities including build, analysis & reporting across the NextGear Capital business.

You will operate within a matrix whereby you deliver to the satisfaction of the NextGear business sponsor but conform to the standards and principles set out by your line manager.


Objectives for the Role:

  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Build, develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work with management to prioritise business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Ability to Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Experience of extracting data from multiple platforms including;
  • Building custom Salesforce / Tableau reports
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform & Load)
  • Ability to transform data from file types such as; XML
  • Excel queries & formulas
