Role Overview & Responsibilities
Consultant Ophthalmologist, 10 PA contract and a 1:16 on call rota.

The post holder will be expected to
<br>contribute to the Medical Retinal (MR)
<br>service, one session of urgent eye clinic,
<br>and be able to perform complex cataract
<br>surgery, laser and injections
<br>independently. Medical Retina experience
<br>(including proficient skills in retinal laser
<br>and experience in running AMD services)
<br>at fellowship or consultant level is
<br>desirable in order to meet the
<br>department’s needs. The post holder will
<br>also be expected to take an active roll in
<br>audit and clinical governance activities
<br>and to participate in the departments
<br>teaching programmes.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the Medical Retinal (MR) service, one session of urgent eye clinic, and be able to perform complex cataract surgery, laser and injections independently. Medical Retina experience (including proficient skills in retinal laser and experience in running AMD services) at fellowship or consultant level is desirable in order to meet the department’s needs.
