Senior Systems Engineer

Objectives of this Role:Manage infrastructure system design, implementation, testing, and maintenanceEvaluate flow of business applications and provide recommendations for improvementIdentify potential issues and recommend practical solutionsAutomate business processes to increase efficiencyDocument infrastructure team’s processesWork closely with various departments to help support their goals and objectivesProvide guidance and mentorship to other team membersAssess and propose changes to security policies, standards and proceduresContinue to refine business continuity processes Responsibilities: Communication with stakeholders to identify objectives and recommend suitable solutionsSystem optimization to ensure performance and minimize resource usageAutomation scriptingInstallation/configuration of operating systems, software, and hardware componentsPlanning and implementation of system upgrades and migrationsDocumentation of procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staffDesign and participation in semi-annual disaster recovery testsParticipation in weekly on-call rotationCommunication of potential business risk to executive leadership Required Qualifications:5+ years relevant work experienceSolid understanding of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)Windows Server/Active Directory administrationOffice 365 Administration/MS Exchange messaging platformAccess management and multi-factor authentication experienceNetworking concepts and implementation (Cisco)Firewall and VPN administrationEndpoint threat protectionWindows Powershell scriptingSecure certificate managementSaaS application administrationExcellent communication skillsAbility to work flexible hoursEffective project and time managementAnalytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skillsAbility to explain complex technical concepts using plain language Preferred Qualifications:Linux/Unix AdministrationHyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) conceptsSharepoint administrationPatch and vulnerability management
