We work in a multifunctional way across water quality and water resources, bridging FCRM (Flood Coastal Risk Management) and E&B (Environment & Business) ensuring that we identify solutions to key environmental issues faced across the DCIS Area. This is an opportunity to truly make a difference through delivering multi-functional environmental outcomes.
The workstreams covered by this role include:
- Planning, developing and prioritising our water quality and water quantity monitoring.
- Contributing to the DCIS Area Water Environment Regulations and River Basin Management Plan.
- Managing our environmental evidence including Water Framework Directive classification data stored on the Catchment Planning System and Catchment Data Explorer.
- Providing evidence to the wider business and partner organisations to support environmental protection and improvement.
- Visualisation and presentation of data in various formats, including use of ArcGIS or other mapping software.
Please note, we are not expecting the finished package. Alongside working with our Specialist, plenty of support and training will be available.
Our work helps to ensure that delivery on the ground, whether EA or partners, is as effective and efficient as it can be and provides as much for the environment as possible for every pound spent.
Ideally you will have a degree in an environmental subject and experience in either water quality or river basin planning. You will be free thinking and able to visualise your catchment, be methodical and organised, challenging convention, delivering high quality work to defined deadlines.
