Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to be a part of a team of business support staff contributing to the management of waterways activities on the River Thames. Working with colleagues and customers, you will be part of a team providing vital support to our operations including, Income management, licencing, communications, administration and project support. The ideal person will have a diverse range of experience particularly within communications, be energetic and confident. You will also contribute to the wider work of the Environment Agency.

Key responsibilities:
  • Building a network of internal relationships to provide support across many different functions
  • Working with other Environment Agency teams to support their activities
  • Contributing to local projects, working and stakeholder groups
  • Managing the roster
  • Permitting and licensing
  • Supporting the wider department
The team
The Environment Agency has a responsibility to manage some of the busiest recreational waterways in the country. Our River Thames operations include 45 lock and weir complexes and our primary aim is to provide a first class service to our customers. Your team will consist of project, technical and administrational staff who support customers and other teams. The role advertised will be based at Kings Meadow House.
Experience/skills required
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, working with colleagues and customers
  • Good all-round communication including IT, Administration and record keeping
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment
