Ethics & Compliance – Americas Ethics & Compliance Program, Senior Associate

Join our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources, and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace, and support EY’s growth and profitability. Major teams within CBS include Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Enterprise Support Services, Brand Marketing and Communications, Business Development, Knowledge, and Ethics & Compliance.

The Ethics & Compliance function helps protect EY from risks that arise from its professional practice. Ethics & Compliance teams provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as dealing with claims, and any queries regarding the organization’s ethics.

Job Summary:

As an Americas Ethics & Compliance Program Senior Associate, you will support the firmwide Ethics & Compliance Program efforts, through:

Supporting the management of the EY Ethics Program, including oversight, communications and awareness raising, execution of data driven initiativesMaintaining of framework activities to assist the Ethics & Compliance team in sustaining a culture of integrity throughout EY Execution of effective communication and document management to advise professionals across a range of service lines, industry sectors, and geographic Areas. This will involve dealing with complex, non-standard issues involving ethics.Identifying and implementing modifications and enhancements, enabling the process(es) to support firm priorities and needs.

You will work independently, with periodic feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in assessing ethics elements, implementing new strategy, and reviewing the application of the ethics framework throughout the firmContribute and support design and launch of relevant Ethics & Compliance training programs for the businessRecommend ways to improve process(es), and/or develop new approaches, calling on your Ethics & Compliance, technical, and business experience Keep documentation and information on process(es) across ethics & compliance platforms up to date Coordinate Americas Ethics Hotline matters with the appropriate levels of review across regionsSharePoint and Diligent master data management of ethics program elementsUpload and organize resources and meeting materialsCoordinate updates that are provided through the strategic and ongoing meetingsManage and oversee the confidential platforms and create additions or updates as required Support and execute embedded ethics processes, programs, reporting, and analysis across various areas to identify potential issuesDevelop and manage standard Ethics & Compliance program communications as required Gain an understanding of the key requirements of firm policies and regulators' rules regarding ethics, integrity and operating an ethics program. Translate this knowledge into action plans and recommendations as appropriate Keep abreast of emerging knowledge, trends and lessons learned. Identify topics for training presentations to communicate new developments (and their impact) to clients and Ethics & Compliance team members. Support development of training material and assist in presenting at training sessionsSupport research and analysis across the topics relevant to the compliance program. Interpret policies and processes, determine required actions, and document the diligence with which tasks are performed, to help meet the demands of external regulatorsDevelop relationships, and build a network of people within your team and across the firm Gain a solid understanding of relevant parts of the EY business Provide support and act as a liaison for active and in development technology enablement projects

Ability to write processes, procedure manuals and plans on complex matters that are easily understoodStrong technical abilities and the use of analytical methodology to execute projectsIndependently answer complex, non-routine questions from internal clientsHigh degree of personal ownership and accountability, with the ability to prioritize workload and deliver credible outputs within strict deadlinesUnderstand the need for change initiatives and act as a positive advocate for necessary changes as it relates to the processAnalytical approach to evaluate existing processes to offer innovative ideas for improvement and allow for operational efficiency and effectiveness

To qualify, candidates must have:

Strong research and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of Department of Justice guidance for compliance programs and willingness to gain further knowledge/certifications (e.g. LEPC) in ethics program creation and maintenance. Astute attention to detailFlexibility to adapt to different working situationsOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsProficient technology skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, workflow tools such as Archer a plus)Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks in a timely mannerBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceApproximately 3 – 5+ years related experience

What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $65,400 to $115,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $78,500 to $130,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
