At G4S Facilities Management we are passionate about the services we deliver and our facilities management professionals are at the heart of everything that we do.


We are looking to recruit a Porter. Porters are a key part of the team within our hospitals as they undertake the movement of patients, equipment, documentation and food.


This is a full-time role based at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford OX3 7LD, working various shifts, 37.5 hours per week. This is a customer facing role so customer service experience would be key. We need someone with good communication skills, who will be empathetic towards patients and visitors. You will be required to carry heavy loads and spend a long amount of time on your feet. Manual Handling training would be an advantage, but is not essential.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Transporting patients throughout the hospital; ensuring response times and standards are maintained throughout.

  • Delivering medical gas cylinders, equipment, stores furniture, pharmaceutical and pathology items

  • Taking blood samples, specimens and medication around the hospital in a timely and pleasant manner.

  • To take linen, case notes and the removal and disposal of waste

  • Receive, record and prioritise job requests in line with agreed procedures.

  • Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
