Senior Construction Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Construction Accountant to oversee all aspects of our company's financial operations, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and compliance documentation. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with peers and clients while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the company's general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial records Prepare consolidated monthly financial statements and conduct period-end closings Research and address accounting issues to maintain compliance with GAAP Prepare compliance documents for bonding companies and banking partners Serve as a liaison with external auditors/CPA firm and provide necessary documentation Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions Assist project management with construction draws and job costing analysis Maintain insurance policies, licenses, and tax filings Analyze and report accurate Work in Process schedule (Construction WIP) Establish and maintain internal financial controls and best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficiency in Timberline (Sage 300) and other bookkeeping software Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
