Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are currently actively seeking Trainee/Graduate Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take the next step.

Our client has a reputation for delivering some of the most prestigious civil engineering, infrastructure and public realm projects in the UK . In joining the team, you will have the support and opportunity to broaden your skills/experience and ultimately, progress your career working on rail infrastructure, civils.

Responsibilities:As a trainee Qauntiy Surveyor With guidance and support from a roaming Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include;

  • Assisting in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates
  • Performing take-offs from technical drawings and producing precise quantity surveys
  • Supporting in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations and proposals
  • Assisting in preparing project cost reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Supporting the Quantity Surveyor in administering contracts, including issuing instructions and variations, preparing payment certificates, and managing claims
  • Collaborating with other departments, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project information is current and accurate.

Qualifications and Experience: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • GCSE including English and maths and/BTEC
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for mechanical and electrical engineering projects
  • Highly organised
  • enthusiasm, drive and professionalism in representing our client with clients and contractors
