Job Description Utility Technician, Tuesday Through Saturday, 7:00am-3:30pm
POSITION TITLE: Utility Technician
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor/Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
General Statement
Signature Facilities Services has positioned itself to be a one stop shop for any or all our customers building maintenance, construction, and janitorial needs.
BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of our customers facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Break down cardboard from all stations, separate garbage and dispose of in designated areas continually throughout the day (Saturday)
- 9:00 AM take first break
- 10:10 AM clean and re-stock supplies in break rooms and restrooms and remove all garbage (Saturday)
- 11:30 PM lunch break
- Spot clean entry glass
- Check around building, parking lot and break areas for debris, clan ash urns, and pickup cigarette butts and dispose of in designated areas. (Saturday)
- 2:00 PM take last break
- 2:15 PM clean re-stock supplies in break rooms and restrooms and remove all garbage (Saturday
- Break down cardboard from all stations, separate garbage and dispose of in designated areas continually throughout the day (Saturday)
- Stock janitor closets with consumables and chemicals as needed (Saturday)
- Stock supplies for restrooms, janitor closets, break rooms and supply cabinets/rooms, when needed
- Assist with cleaning restrooms, parking lot, windows, furniture, when needed
- Assist with dispose of trash, waste, and recyclables, when needed
- Maintain clean work area
- Assist during staff shortage
- Support shift lead in completing ticketing item.
- Produce simple reports
- Picture/Bulletin Board Installation
- Touch up paint and small repairs
- Assembling shelves/furniture
- Outside sign installation (small signs)
- Restroom management of drains plugged
- Escort Vendors
- And other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-year prior experience in a maintenance, custodian, or janitorial position.
Qualifications
- Custodial or janitorial experience is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Basic mechanic skills/PM maintenance
- Forklift and ariel lift certification is a plus or willing to be trained/certified
- Experience operating motorized equipment, (e.g.,, auto-scrubbing machines, golf carts, vacuums, trash compactor, cardboard bailer, forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts, etc.) or willing to be trained/certified DELETED VEHICALS AND LIGHT TRUCKS FOR INSURANCE REASONS
- Experience with various power and hand tools (e.g., sockets, wrenches, hammers, drills, impact wrench, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Experience using electronic devices (i.e., computers and tablets) to respond to and update work orders.
- Be able to take initiative, work as a team member and communicate effectively
- Present a professional appearance and conduct
- Maintain customer service and satisfaction
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time, including standing, sitting, bending, working with arms raised, and walking on concrete and uneven surfaces while repeatedly lifting to 50 lbs. throughout shift
- Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day
- Ability to climb portable and fixed ladders, occasionally working at heights above 10 ft.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision; and
- Good communication skills and ability to comprehend instructions and follow through with desired requirements.
- Reliable transportation.

Experience
1 years: Prior experience in a maintenance, custodian, or janitorial position. (preferred)
