Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Hospital Pharmacy Modernisation Team is responsible for delivering the NHS Infusions and Special Medicines Programme, implementing the 18 recommendations in Lord Carter’s 2020 review of aseptic services in England (Transforming NHS pharmacy aseptic services in England - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

It also produces guidance and metrics to support improved productivity and efficiency through better, safer use of medicines and through driving the transformation of pharmacy services in hospitals, working with NHS providers, ICSs and regions.

The small, friendly team is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee and support the running of the PMO and associated projects in our Infusions and Special Medicines Programme. Full induction to the programme and the team will be provided.

This is an exciting time to support the programme as we look to drive and support the changes required on the ground. There will be opportunities to shape and design the projects, as well as work with individuals at all levels from within NHS England and other key stakeholders.

This post is advertised as a full-time home-working position, but flexibility in terms of working location and hours are possible.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Establishing and supporting the programme board.
  • Organising meetings and processes.
  • Develop and managing project tools and documentation.
  • Developing project plans, tracking and reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder communications.
  • Preparing papers and reports
