Merriveen Ltd are adding another truck to our fleet and looking for a Class 1 HGV TRAMPER or Day Driver to join our Ipswich team.
Your role will be delivering Container or Tautliner loads throughout the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be delivering to Sites throughout the UK, so a good knowledge of the UK road network and Ports is an advantage.
- You will be required to accurately and efficiently deliver loads in the timescales set.
- Communicating clearly at appropriate times is essential.
- You will ensure all documentation is completed accurately meeting the set standards.
- You will be responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- You will report any accident or damage to any equipment or machinery.
- You must report any vehicle defects daily and throughout your shift
- You should Keep the truck clean and tidy at all times
- Adhere to all road traffic regulations and drivers hours at all times.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
- Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum licence held for at least 24 months
- Mobile App experience preferred (jobs & defect recording via phone app)
- Container & Port experience is desirable
- You must be fully flexible in relation to shifts and duties
- You need to be able to ensure correct and accurate completion of the documentation in line with legislative and company policies and procedures.
- You must be able to provide a time-critical delivery service in an efficient manner.
Applicants will also undergo a driving assessment.
Secure parking is provided for your car during the week.
