Role Overview & Responsibilities

Reporting to the product manager, as an apprentice you will be working within the Assembly Team as a flexible resource carrying out a range of duties involved in the assembly of gates/barriers/poles/electrical control panels as required.

Job Duties

  • Assembling, wiring, repairing and testing of mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment on our range of products.
  • Using hand/crimp/soldering/power tools.
  • Crimping, looming and cable terminating work on control panels.
  • Accurately numbering, crimping and stripping of various cables.
  • Liaise with stores to get required stock for projects.
  • Working to instructions and/or wiring diagrams/drawings.
  • General assembly tasks.
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are met including: equipment checks; wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment; following safety protocols; proactively reporting any concerns or risks; participating in training and risk assessments as required.
  • Work towards completion of Electrical Apprenticeship.

Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours

  • Ability to read and understand technical/wiring drawings.
  • Interest in Engineering.
  • Experience of using tools.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to on-going learning and personal development.
  • A good communicator who works well in a team environment.
  • Enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload.
  • An awareness of health and safety.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Flexible to work overtime/weekends.
