Band 6 £39,335 - £47,604 including Distance Islands Allowance pro rata per annum
Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Fixed term contract – 9 Months from start date
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Dental Therapist to join NHS Orkney’s Public Dental Service.
This post is based across our two sites, The Balfour and Garson Dental Clinic.
The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry via Independent General Dental Practices and the post holder will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Services to these groups within their scope of practice. GDC registration as a Dental Therapist and evidence of participation in postgraduate dental education is essential.
The post holder will be required to carry out preventative care and treatment for patients of all ages including those with additional and complex needs.
You must be able to work as part of a team and under your own initiative as well as coping under pressure in our busy clinics. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, be computer literate and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
