Niche Frames is a small independent framing company that was established in Bristol. We offer bespoke framing and printing services to the both general public and businesses alike. With over 30 years of experience behind us, we are one of Bristol's leading framing companies, and have worked with Bristol institutions such as the BBC, RWA, Bristol Museum and an number of well known Bristol artists. We are the cities one stop shop for framing & printing.
We are looking for an Technician to assist the team with a variety of different tasks related to printing and mounting. This role requires constant attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work on time. The successful applicant for this position will have excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is interested in pursuing a career as a Technician and/or is looking for some work experience related to print companies.
Responsibilities:
- Operation & maintenance of printers and machinery. We have 2 x Epson SCP20000, and 1 x Epson SC80600. All large format.
- Running print jobs, making sure the runs are as economic as possible and on the correct stock etc. We have a wide range of papers including Somerset, Hannemuhle, Fotospeed and Permajet.
- Chopping prints, packing neatly for either collection, shop delivery or post. We use DHL Parcel online for the majority of our shipping.
- Checking and editing of files to prepare for print. We use Onyx Rip software for loading runs, and Photoshop to check images etc.
- Assist with cold mounting prints to various substrates : foamcore, foamex etc. We have a Drytac Jetmounter JM55.
- Prepare finished goods for transit to ensure safe arrival at destination.
- Assist mount department with picture mounting when required.
- Assist with the loading of goods into transit vehicle.
- Assist with the unloading of delivery of raw materials / paper products and orders that are delivered to the company.
- Any other duty deemed necessary to fulfill the role.
