Role Overview & Responsibilities

NOW Education are looking to source an enthusiastic teaching assistant, on behalf of one of our secondary schools based in Rainhill.

This teaching assistant role is a fantastic opportunity. The chosen candidate will work in a supportive and dynamic environment, rated a “good” school by Ofsted. They are blessed with a state-of-the-art facility and proud to be at the heart of their local community. With Teaching Assistant work you would be required to provide in-classroom support, small group sessions and one-to-ones. You do not need to be qualified to work in this role, it is desirable to have the qualification and prior experience so you can hit the ground running, but it is not essential. This is a good opportunity for those who enjoy making a difference to pupil learning and those who are looking to pursue a career in the education sector.

This position is an immediate start and will be a full-time, long-term opportunity, meaning you will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. A number of our long term roles do lead to full time, permanent roles within the school.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • You have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • You hold a current enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • You have previous experience working with children in a classroom.
  • Experience in supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the teaching staff and the children to enhance learning.
  • Reinforcing lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students individually or in small groups.
  • Enforce school and class rules.
  • Help prepare for the lesson by getting materials ready.
  • Supervise students and support teachers.
  • In-classroom support, small group sessions and one to ones

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 36 per week

Salary: £75.00-£85.00 per day
