The Company has grown rapidly since its founding in 2017 and is now at an inflection point where a Director of Sales is needed to take ownership of leading and guiding the sales team.
This is a good situation for someone to walk into – not a disaster that needs to be cleaned up. That said, there is ample room for the new Director of Sales to make their mark.
The PositionReporting directly to the Company President, the new Director of Sales will:Lead a team of sevenLead the sales function - providing leadership, coaching, direction, assistance and accountabilityDevelop sales strategies, select technology tools and sales training to achieve business and sales goalsMonitor and act on industry trends and competitor activitiesWith Company leadership, develop goals and forecasts and then periodically report on sales and marketing resultsRepresent the firm at selected industry and community eventsBe personally involved with sales and account management with select key accountsLead the recruitment of new sales professionals as neededBe a member of the Company leadership team
Compensation is a mix of base, commission, bonus and insurance and other benefits.
Preferred Experience and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant areaAt least five years of experience in a B-to-B sales leadership positionAt least ten years of post-college work experience that includes sales and account management experienceA track record of results / business growthPrevious experience in the metals industry is preferredPrevious experience in a fast-paced quoting environment is preferredA stable employment historyA hands-on, coaching leadership style, without micromanagingA presence and personality that inspires confidence, encourages high morale, and invites subordinates to be open with him or herAn entrepreneurial spiritA “team player” orientationPrevious experience developing sales people
