Monday - Friday role in the holidays (9.5 hours a day)
Oxford Active Ltd are recruiting for Play Workers to work in the school holidays at one of our Oxford camps as Activity Leaders! The location is St Swithuns CE Primary School, Grundy Crescent, Kennington, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX1 5PS however we do have roles at Summer Fields School, Mayfield Rd, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7EN and Rye St Anthony in Headington.
Oxford Active Ltd has been running successful clubs for over 15 years and we’ve been working with families for almost 20 years, introducing children to new activities whilst bringing peace of mind to parents.
Active Camps runs from 8am - 6pm
The ideal candidate will ideally have a childcare qualification, one years' experience of working or volunteering with children in a play or sports environment and Paediatric First Aid. You must also have a good understanding of safeguarding children and have the ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children.
All staff have to pass strict safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS and referencing.
Your day at Oxford Active could look like;
- Working as part of a team to provide safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities for children aged 3 – 14 years. Activities can include sports and games, arts and crafts, drama, dance, cooking.
- Working as part of a team to devise and plan new activities that will engage and challenge children attending the clubs
- Keeping children safe and minimising risks in the play environment
- Being responsible for tidying rooms and looking after play equipment each day
