Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are recruiting for full time Operatives to work in our Butchery Department at our Westerleigh site who are keen to learn new skills, are focused and driven. If you feel that this describes you, we want to hear from you! We are looking to invest into people, providing role specific training to progress enthusiastic candidates up through the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is carried out to the best of the Operative's abilities to meet production deadlines
  • Seek training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice
  • Work as part of a team and take responsibility for own work
  • Carry out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with training
  • Comply with Company policy and procedures on safe food handling and hygiene at all times
  • Maintain responsibility for operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report faults to Management in a timely manner
  • Maintain personal PPE
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned necessary to meet business needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or
  • Willingness to learn in semi-skilled / trainee roles
  • Good communication
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction

The vacancies are full time on a regular shift pattern across a 45 hour week. Actual times worked may vary slightly depending on the production line.
