Credit Risk Analyst

Piper Companies is seeking a Data Analyst (Credit Risk) to join a premier credit union located in Mclean, VA. The Data Analyst will develop and conduct funnel conversion optimization, data analytics, financial assessments, business intelligence, and performance reporting. This role is Hybrid (3 days on-site).

Responsibilities of the Data Analyst include:

Drive monitoring and analyses of credit risk for both organic and acquired portfolios, prepare related management reporting packages, and provide insights on root causes, emerging credit trends, and implications on Allowance for Loan Losses. Perform business line program deep dive and monitoring on credit policy change to drive credit policy optimization and risk mitigation strategies, inform corporate strategic decisions, enable better member experience, and improve efficiencies.Provide ongoing or ad-hoc risk analytics to support credit or new product expansion.Collaborate with the modeling team to build/manage risk models using both internal and external data sources, conduct risk drivers’ analysis, and build and implement valuations models.Identify required data and work with data stewards to understand data sources, ensure data quality, and retrieve data on a timely basis. Contribute to credit data mart and corporate database designs.

Qualifications for the Data Analyst include:

1+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst in a Banking or Financial Services environmentSolve business problems by applying advanced data and analytical methods. Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data processing, analysis, evaluation of customer insights and presentationsUtilize analytical tools (SQL, R, Python) and data query tools to build, test, evaluate and maintain robust data analysis and reportingExperience in statistical modelling including linear and logistic regression, decision tree and GBMMaster’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field is preferred

Compensation for the Data Analyst include:

Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000 -- $30/hr.– $40/hr. **depending on experience**Full benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Cigna Healthcare, Dental, Vision
