In House Counsel to Counsel on Managed Care Matters for Large Company
If you are a subject matter expert in managed care, this in house counsel position is for you! The Counsel will handle a blend of regulatory, compliance, and legal affairs matters in the managed care space. The company handles Medicare, Medicaid, and Covered California under their umbrella.
Compensation package: up to $205,000 base salary + 5% bonus
Hybrid: Position is onsite 3 days/week.
Responsibilities:Dive deep into legal research: Conduct comprehensive research on various legal topics to prepare insightful legal memorandums and executive briefings for leadership.Handle litigation: Draft and respond to discovery requests, review motions and legal documents, and provide strategic recommendations to external counsel.Be a Subject Matter Expert & Trust Managed Healthcare Advisor: Attend meetings with different business units, analyze legal implications, and recommend effective courses of action.Stay ahead of the curve: Provide strategic counsel on the legal impact of new or proposed regulations and government requirements.Embrace collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with regulatory and business attorneys, other professionals, and paralegals on cross-functional legal matters.Build strong relationships: Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of staff members, fostering a collaborative spirit between the legal department and other business units.Champion data privacy: Ensure the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) according to HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.Go the extra mile: Contribute to the overall success of the Health Plan by taking on additional duties as assigned.
