Service Care Legal are recruiting a Legal Assistant within a Local Authority. The successful candidate can do this role either Hybrid or Fully Remote and will be joining an expanding team with great support. More details below:
ROLE: Legal Assistant
LOCATION: Durham
CONTRACT: 6Months
RATE: £16-£23 (negotiable)
The Role-
- Provide effective administrative support to the Solicitors, fee earners and others throughout the team.
- Ensure that you work in line with the councils policies and procedures.
- Personal responsibility for childcare cases, under supervision of the Principal Lawyer and other lawyers of the people team.
- Drafting court applications, prepare witness statements, deal with correspondence, brief and help instruct the counsel and other experts.
- Attend case meetings, strategy meetings, reviews, conferences with counsel and other meetings.
The Person-
- Experience within a Local Authority especially if working Remotely.
- Experience of dealing with public law work such as educations, mental health and adult services, would be desirable although not essential.
- Clear and confident people skills and communication skills.
- To be flexible and work as a team member.
