Role Overview & Responsibilities

Siemens Financial Services have an exciting opportunity for a Front-End Developer to join our global Customer Innovation Group based in Stoke Poges. You will be creating mobile / web applications that redefine the way in which we interact with our customers. You will be responsible for the mapping of customer journeys and driving co-creation with customers to take ideas through to a prototype or proof of concept rapidly. You will bring an element of technical skills and will understand how to partner with fintech’s and other providers to integrate their services and solutions to our tools and offerings.

You will drive development of digital go-to-market solutions and digital customer journeys based on data and IoT technology in the segment of small- and mid-ticket financing. You will work closely with a small team of business experts within a series of agile sprints to rapidly develop and test a series of customer facing applications.

You will shape the digital future of the go-to-market of Commercial Finance, and will work in dynamically staffed development and rapid testing projects of internal ideas and trials with external companies – like FinTechs.

We offer flexible working, with a combination of home and office working in our Stoke Poges office.

What will you deliver?
  • Identify opportunities for using the latest mobile and web development tools to redesign or improve the way financial service companies’ approach and handle their customers
  • Engage stakeholders to introduce, build, test and validate ideas for improved digital go-to-market solutions
  • Develop ideas for digitalisation of the financial services industry into proof-of-concepts / demonstrators for testing them with customers, partners and internal decision makers
  • Inspire change and lead small project teams in an agile working environment across Sales, Risk, Operations and IT
  • Deliver digital innovation projects based on own technical skills and under usage of market understanding – leveraging the overall market understanding of our business
  • Think holistically about digitalisation in the small and mid-ticket financing market
  • Design and implement attractive UI components in Angular or React connected to our backend applications via modern API technologies.
  • Apply modern code analysis tools like SonarQube or JSLint to ensure high source code quality and appropriate security level of your applications
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
  • Update-to-date in-depth knowledge about JavaScript and modern frameworks (most importantly Angular and React)
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and creating awesome UI’s
  • Project experience in applying agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban)
  • Creative thinking with the ability to bring ideas to life
  • Excellent collaboration and client facing skills with good communication
  • Experience interacting with Rest APIs, and associated tools (e.g. Postman)
Desirable skills:
  • UX experience
  • Previous experience in a Digital Agency or Consultancy, designing and developing proof-of-concepts
  • On the job training/experience in financial services or Business Administration / Banking
