Redhat Admin/System Engineer

Position SummaryYou will support and administer the design, planning and implementation of all technology related activities of the organization. You will work closely with solution architects, application development teams and decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. You will also support the adoption and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
ResponsibilitiesWork with Solution Architects to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issuesConduct research on emerging technologies and products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems procurement and development effortsAssist in the definition of enterprise and team standardsAssist in the creation and maintenance of governance strategies for system provisioningPerform enterprise wide audits for system consolidation, preventative maintenance, and upgrades. Assist in developing plans and strategies for remediation.Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systemsResearch and define security enhancements to keep current with the industry standards and best practicesCreate processes to test and evaluate data and system securitySupport application development teams throughout project lifecyclesParticipate in POCs and Pilots to evaluate new technologies to be used by the enterpriseProvide 3rd level 24/7 supportCreate technical documentation and manuals to be used by other IT teams. Create and modify reference architecture documentation as requiredProvide technical insights and recommendations to the entire IT staff as appropriateRecommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, life-cycle management upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchasesUse a variety of techniques to stay current with information technology trends and operational concepts and tools for solving technical problems
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience7+ years IT related experienceRed Hat Satellite / PatchingOS: Red Hat or LinuxGnome/gtk librariesSawfish window managerPerlBash scriptingHardware qualificationC and python programmingDevice driversmodifying/compiling open source projectsrpm package buildscontainerization: docker/podman

The salary range for this opportunity is $87,500 - 124,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
