Role Overview & Specifications

This position carries out the execution of new member sales, conversions & upgrades sales resulting in the attainment of the association’s growth goals. This position will work an assigned book of business as a liaison between SBAM and its members by initiating member contact via phone, mail, fax, e-mail, and other broad networking means; occasional travel required.
Applications due by Friday, May 3, 2024. ResponsibilitiesClose new member sales, conversions & upgrades. Independent judgment will be required to evaluate the best tool on a case-by-case basis to close a sale.
Extensive phone, e-mail, and mail contact expected with potential and current members. The purpose will be to introduce and sell SBAM memberships and services and to build effective long-term relationships with members as well as informing them of new as ancillary product/service benefits.
Upgrade existing members by performing upselling and cross-selling functions pertaining to the product and service channel opportunities available.
Execute and provide input into membership sales strategies and member retention strategies utilizing the Association’s full product and service offerings. Creativity and discretion will be required to determine the proper tools and techniques used to be successful.
Participate in membership sales and retention strategy development via the SBAM Membership Sales & Marketing team. Participate in the execution of periodic targeted sales/marketing campaigns as directed by the Director of Strategic Growth and Corporate Relationships.
Participate in, and travel to SBAM Owner to Owner events across the state. Manage sales follow up process for Owner to Owner for your book of business.
Maintain an accurate and timely record of activity within the assigned book of business using the Association’s customer relationship management system.
Present updates regarding the status of book of business against goals to the Director of Strategic Growth and Corporate Relationships on a bi-weekly basis.
QualificationsBachelor's degree3-5 years experience in the areas of sales or business developmentKnowledgeable in Microsoft Office 365 suite, Teams, SharePoint, Pipedrive and customer relationship management softwareDemonstrated ability provide a high level of customer serviceStrong oral communication skills and understanding of sales processCan manage multiple projectsDetail oriented with excellent follow-up skills
Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily remote, with the expectation of attending meetings at the Lansing MI based office once a month. Occasional evening travel is required.
