Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Purpose and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by analysing data and market information from various sources to make strategic recommendations collaborating effectively internally and with suppliers to gather information to provide data and evidence that the Starbucks global safety and quality standards have been met. Constantly looking for ways to improve.

This job also contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the implementation and ongoing sustainability of product quality for all products going into our store environment such as food beverages, furniture, flooring, merchandise, equipment and paper goods. This will involve looking at specifications, safety reviews, testing management, supplier quality assurance and record keeping. The role supports other quality professionals across multiple product types. The individual will have a passion for implementing high quality requirements within commercial practicality constraints.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains quality and product information databases and critical files.
  • Summarises data, identifies concerns and provides feedback to key stakeholders.
  • Provides accurate product information to internal partners to respond to consumer, media and other external organisation inquiries.
  • Assures accuracy, completeness and reasonableness of information; follows up with suppliers to resolve problems.
  • Maintain data and compliance
  • Maintains a process to remain aware of external developments in performance and regulatory requirements for areas of product responsibility.
  • Support accuracy and completion of product specifications.
  • Support the Starbucks regulatory compliance processes.
  • Support Starbucks on their nutrition agenda
  • Maintenance of customer facing materials
  • Support reformulation programme


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to priorities and multitask, be detail orientated and to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to collect data, organise, analyse and capture conclusions
  • Understanding of effective approach for managing quality in a retail and B-to-B environment.
  • Quality management in manufacturing
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence internal customers and external service providers Implementing quality requirements within commercial practicality constraints.
  • Compilation of records, reports, customer feedback as well as operational and quality metric support of supplier qualification activities.
  • Excellent Excel and typographical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Relevant degree in Food or related subject
  • Knowledge of ingredient declarations and allergen implications
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Have a good understanding of allergens and legislations across EMEA region.
