Role Overview & Responsibilities

Purpose / Role

  • To develop and design manufacturing processes across fabrication and assembly, quality control, and material logistics. The aim of this is to standardise repeatable, efficient and effective manufacturing methods and processes.
  • To develop and design jigs, fixtures and handling equipment across all areas. The aim of this is to drive repeatability of manufacturing and achieve design specification standards.
  • To document processes and procedures across the whole company, initially focused on creating Standard Operating Procedures for Production and Quality control. The aim of this is to capture and document knowledge in detail.

Prime Role and Duties

  • To document and improve standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • To CAD design jigs, fixtures and handling tools
  • To work with product design engineers to improve design for manufacture.
  • To work with other stakeholders to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and documenting simple and easy to use standard operating procedures, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, able to create video versions of SOPs and digital checklists.
  • Good communication skills, excellent attention to detail and English writing skills.
  • Ability to independently manage workload and priorities.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, managing multiple projects.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Lean Thinking and Design for Manufacture
  • Experience of 2D and 3D CAD drawing – ideally using Autodesk Inventor

Pay Rate and Benefits:

This position offers a salary of between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum DOE. Other benefits are as follows:

  • Company provided lunch Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
  • 40 hour week with flexible start and finish times.
  • 3 days discretionary Christmas break holidays in addition to the 28 days statutory.
  • Excellent working environment in a stable and growing business.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
