Role Overview & Responsibilities

Are you an experienced CBT therapist passionate about working with young people? Perhaps you're interested in how technology can support your practice?

Or perhaps you've recently finished your training and would like to develop your clinical and leadership skills in a supportive and nurturing environment? You may be aspiring to a B7 position, but feel that you need some additional support to work confidently at that level.

The Hampshire CAMHS Blended Digital Team works countywide to support young people who have had the longest waits in our service.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced B7 CBT therapist to support the ongoing development of psychological interventions in the team for children on the low mood and anxiety pathway.

We are happy to consider a colleague currently working at B6 who'd be keen to develop to a B7 position with the right support structures in place.

You will be familiar with working virtually and face to face, and will be excited by the prospect of using digital technology to support your therapeutic work.

Your practice will be primarily CBT-based, but you will bring additional clinical skills and experience. preferably from CAMHS. You should be accredited or accreditable with BABCP.

Our team base is in Eastleigh. Colleagues work in a blended way depending on where and how young people need to be seen.

There is a requirement to travel county-wide for this role.

Supported by the Clinical Lead and Team Manager you will:
  • be responsible for delivering therapy to a caseload of YP in the team, and depending on your clinical background and interests, undertake other clinical work as agreed
  • be actively involved in participation and supporting young people’s involvement in developing our offer
  • determine the suitability of specific psychological interventions, including group and individual modalities, based on young people's assessment / formulation
  • contribute to the planning / review cycle of the psychological therapies programme
  • identify gaps and potential developments of the psychological therapy programme, reporting these to the Clinical Lead
  • contribute to the supervision and caseload management of less experienced psychological practitioners and trainees (where appropriate); and by participating in systematic clinical governance
  • support the development, creation and refinement of content on the ehealth platform
Specialist CAMHS provides children and young people across Hampshire with targeted, evidence-based mental health treatment as well as pathways for neurodevelopmental diagnoses.

Hampshire CAMHS values the contributions that psychological therapists bring. You will be part of a strong and supportive clinical psychology and psychological therapies structure across teams and the wider service. Robust and supportive supervision and governance arrangements are in place so that staff are able to practice safely and effectively.

The service is in the process of developing a preceptorship programme for CBT therapists.

If appointed at B6, you would be supported by your line manager, clinical supervisor and by the service CBT Lead to progress to a B7 position within a robust framework and timeframe. This process will make additional support available to you in the form of supervision, study time, peer support, reduced caseloads, filtered client profiles, and access to groups and courses to further support your development.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is supportive of clinicians' professional development and provides access to quality training opportunities.

For full details of the role, please consult the attached job description and person specification.

Please pay particular attention to the appendices attached to the person specification.

Please ensure you consider all elements of the job description and person specification when completing your application.

The preceptorship document referenced in this advert is being finalised and will be made available to the successful candidate, if relevant, upon appointment.
