Role Overview & Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Performance Manager to join Swansea Bay's Patient Access Team. The post holder will have a key role in the managing, planning and implementation of Patient Access Standards within Swansea Bay University Health Board together with the responsibility for the provision of an educationally and clinically sound Corporate RTT Training Programme to support a competent and safe workforce.

The Health Board has experienced challenges in meeting Patient Access standards which has been driven by rising demand for our services, competing pressures and the need to improve our clinical pathways and administrative processes and also the COVID pandemic. However, we aspire to provide a high quality, effective pathway at every stage of the elective journey and also look beyond access targets to ensure that our pathway is truly sustainable, and the Performance Manager will be pivotal in achieving this.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintaining close relationships with our services to ensure effective management of waiting lists ensuring patients receive timely access to elective services with adherence to the cancer and Patient Access patient pathways. The post holder will ensure high quality scheduling of inpatient and outpatient activity within all specialities, including proactive patient-level management of all pathways. Working closely with a range of colleagues from all disciplines, the post holder will plan and co-ordinate resources to ensure achievement of access targets in line with Health Board objectives.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and work to tight deadlines, providing exemplary administrative and organisation skills.
