Role Overview & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY


Calero, the leading technology expense management solution for complex enterprises, is looking for a Junior Software Engineer, in the UK, to work on a team supporting our core calero.com expense management solution. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large enterprise solution that is used by many large international organizations. Our technology stack is constantly evolving but we predominantly use ReactJS for our front end, C# .NET for our backend and MS SQL Server for our database layer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about software development and wants to develop their skills working on a cross-functional agile team. We will consider graduates, previous software engineering role experience or someone who can evidence their passion and self-development via their own projects or open-source project contributions.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES

  • You will work with your team to help plan, develop, test and support products – taking responsibility for the full development lifecycle.
  • You will have the opportunity to work with a large range of different technologies and we encourage people to actively develop their skills in areas they aren’t familiar with.


EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in a Software Engineering role, Web development (client or server side) role, or similar, is valuable but we are interested in anyone who can evidence their passion for engineering –their own projects, open source contributions or qualifications
  • You should ideally have a foundation in software engineering principles and paradigms and be passionate about new technologies


SKILLS

  • Having some experience in our commonly used languages and technology stack is desirable but not essential – Front end (React, HTML, CSS), C# .NET, MicroServices (Microsoft Web Api) and SQL

  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively with other team members
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills and planning/priority setting
