The John Thomas Dye School, an independent K-6 school located in Los Angeles, is currentlyseeking a full-time Admissions Associate for the 2024-25 Academic year. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Admissions Associate plays a vital role in setting the tone for familiesapplying to the school and works closely with the Director of Admissions and the Associate Directorof Admissions on all facets of the process. The successful candidate will be a thoughtful problemsolver who enjoys working with people, is organized, and demonstrates integrity and warmth in allinteractions. Absolute confidentiality and the ability to maintain balanced boundaries whenworking with families is essential. Experience working in admissions and/or with children andparents in a school setting is preferred. This position will be based on a 10-month faculty schedule(observing scheduled school breaks during summer, winter, and spring).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Serve as the first point of contact for all admissions inquiries and communications (phone,email, in-person visits), maintaining a warm, welcoming environment for prospectivefamilies● Manage/execute administrative tasks of the Admissions office:○ Manage online inquiry and application processes and subsequent follow-up and be aresource to families who need assistance with the inquiry and/or application process○ Schedule and coordinate admissions parent interviews and student visits for alldivisions○ Maintain up-to-date digital and paper files for applicants, ensuring compliance with theadmissions protocols and procedures○ Assist with generating reports and calculate statistical data using the School’s databasesystem○ Assist with preparations for student assessments, student interviews, and individualstudent visits○ Liaise with the school security, facilities team, events committees, and receptionregarding upcoming appointments and events○ Help organize admissions materials and place supply orders, tracking departmentalpurchases for budgeting purposes○ Process reimbursements and Purchase Orders as needed● Engage with applicants and families throughout the admissions process, including but notlimited to greeting families during tours, student visit days, and admissions events● Help plan and coordinate admissions events● Attend admissions events, including some weekend and evening events● Communicate with current parents/guardians, including volunteers and Parents’ Associationcommittees as needed● Be an active and involved member of the school community including but not limited toattending morning assemblies, student events, and faculty/staff community-building events● Model professional and ethical standards and 5C’s behavior (Caring, Consideration,Common Sense, Cooperation, and Courtesy) when interacting with students, parents, andcolleagues● Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar roleor experience in an independent school or non-profit setting● Ability to be thoughtful, sensitive and aware of economic, cultural, and other considerationspresent in the enrollment of a diverse student body and approach each interaction throughthe lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging● Ability to prioritize the confidentiality and integrity of the admissions process, including, butnot limited to, details regarding applicant families and testing protocols/evaluations● Demonstrated proficiency with technology including databases, Google Workspace,Microsoft Suite, scheduling softwares, and online application platforms● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy(balanced with a sense of humor) working with current and prospective parents, students,administrators, faculty, and staff● Ability to be a team player who is flexible, creative, collegial, cooperative, and open tofeedback● Demonstrated organizational skills and proactive approach to work with strong attention todetail and follow-up● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written● Demonstrated ability to maintain grace under pressure and exercise discretion in all aspectsof representing the school

The salary range is determined by years of experience and education with a range from $65,000to $72,000.
