Barista

Role Overview & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this position has a background in barista work, and has experience with food preparation, customer service and sanitation and safety standards. A successful candidate will be able to handle the pressure of multi-tasking and working quickly. An ability to learn new skills quickly, take criticism well and work effectively as part of an experimental team are all basic requirements for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Use basic math skills to make change.
• Warmly greet customers and engage in small talk.
• Greet customers in the morning and inform them about daily specials.
• Serve hot and cold beverages.
• Take food orders and deliver food to customers at their tables.
• Maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
• Solve simple customer problems.
• Serve alcoholic beverages at the bar.
• Build rapport with customers.
• Be highly organised.
• Use quality ingredients for all beverages.
• Specialise in different types of drinks depending on the time of day or season.
