Role Overview & Responsibilities

If you are looking for a unique part-time job, join the team of Riddle Rooms Glasgow as an Escape Game Moderator.

We are a front runner of the exciting escape game industry. Our Glasgow venue offers 7 different games with a capacity of 54 players at any one time. We are looking for an outgoing, focused, hard working candidate with a good attention to detail, excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, who has a calm personality and is able to manage occasional, short-lived stress situations.

The role requires someone with strong customer service skills, good communication and reliability as a second nature.

Previous experience of escape room moderation is not required however some knowledge of escape room games would be an asset. You must be available to work the weekends. Living near the City Centre is a must.

Work is on Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities and Duties

A Moderator’s role is:

  • to manage the customer experience during their visit from entrance to exit,
  • briefing the players to the game and rules of conduct,
  • setting the scene of the game (delivering the back story),
  • monitoring their progress and time in the game,
  • giving hints if needed,
  • resetting the room after the game finishes,
  • keeping the venue tidy and in working order.

Desirable skills and qualifications include:

  • disciplined attitude to team and teamwork
  • Strong sense of responsibility and work ethics
  • excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • customer service experience
  • computer literacy
  • qualifications of Higher level or above

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 12 - 20 per week

Salary: £10.30 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Weekend availability
  • Weekends only

Experience:

  • Customer Service: 3 years (required)
