Role Overview & Responsibilities

Cutting Operative

Based in Huncoat

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday, 7.00am - 4.00pm, Friday, 7.00am - 12.45pm. 37.5 hours per week.

We are currently looking to recruit a hardworking, conscientious Cutting Operative to work as part of a team to carry out all aspects of cutting of fabrics and materials ready to be transferred over to the Production team.

Key Responsibilities

· Operation of cutting machines and laminator involving running and loading of the machines.

· Reading work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.

· Calculating meterage required for individual orders with good numerical skills.

· Examining fabric prior to process and checking completed work pieces for defects, such as marred surfaces.

· General maintenance of the cutting machines.

Complying with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and site policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

· Previous experience of working as a machine operative would be beneficial

· Good attention to detail / high level of accuracy

· Good IT and numeracy skills

· Reliable and conscientious with a flexible attitude to work

· Previous fabric/textile awareness

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Physically demanding role as manual handling of fabric rolls will be required
