Secret Cinema has been thrilling audiences for 15 years, delivering deeply unforgettable experiences, fusing the world of cinema and site-specific immersive entertainment. Audiences get the chance to experience their favourite characters and stories in a whole new way, and with titles like Moulin Rouge!, Blade Runner and Dirty Dancing, attracting over half a million visitors in the past 5 years alone.
With Secret Cinema coming to Birmingham for the first time ever, we are looking for proactive and experienced Costume Assistants (Laundry calls) local to the area, who will work alongside the Costume Showcall Supervisor on the show running of Secret Cinema's next Immersive Experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role on a large-scale show or touring production, with strong skills in sewing, communication and problem solving.
Key responsibilities
- General costume maintenance
- Laundry duties, liaising with dry cleaners and sending costumes out for dry-cleaning
- Preparing costumes for the show
- Contributing to the smooth running of the department
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in a similar Costume Laundry Assistant role
- Good costume maintenance skills, sewing, laundry and ironing skills
- Knowledge of various fabrics and how to handle them
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people
- Ability to anticipate issue and liaise with the relevant people ahead of time
- Self motivated, enthusiastic and proactive
Desirable
- Experience in Live events, preferable

- 21st July - Open Dress
- 23rd July - Open Dress (x2)
- 26th July - 13th August - Wed-Sun performances with matinees on Sat and Sun (7x total/week)
- 14th - 19th August - Derig
