Job Advert – Theatre Technician Casual

Reporting to: Deputy Technical Manager

Trafalgar Entertainment aims to connect people through creative, innovative experience by providing inspiring entertainment for everyone for life. At Beck Theatre we are now recruiting for a casual Theatre Technician to join our team. Shifts are flexible/variable and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Here at Beck Theatre, it is an exciting, fast-paced environment with a variety of shows, plays, music and comedy as well as some community events.

About the Role
At Beck Theatre we are recruiting for a casual Theatre Technician. The main responsibilities of this role will be:
  • Assist in the preparation, running of shows/events
  • Moving scenery and equipment during productions working with lighting, sound, and special effects
  • Maintain Health and Safety, Food Safety and Fire Safety procedures
  • Support with “get ins” and “get outs” with all aspects of the productions including lighting, sound, rigging
  • Collaborate with all visiting producers and artists to promote good customer relations
This is not an exhaustive list of duties, from time to time you may be required to undertake such alternative or additional duties these will be commensurate with your skills, experience, and capabilities

Requirements / About you
We are looking for individuals that can collaborate as part of team to achieve excellent customer service
Key attributes:
  • Passion for theatre / live entertainment
  • Knowledge of technical theatre/theatre craft from accredited institute along with understanding of protocols such as DMX, ETC EOS software QLAB and digital sound decks
  • An exceptional eye for details
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Great team spirit
  • Strong Communication and listening skills
  • Understanding of health and safety
  • Able to work safely at heights using ladders, telescopes and from lighting bridges
  • Ability to work effectively at busy times
