The ACHDS is a partnership between the University of Aberdeen, NHS Grampian and NHS Research & Development North Node enabling the utilisation of electronic health records to address health and healthcare challenges.

The research assistant will be part of an enthusiastic, interdisciplinary, team within the ACHDS managed by Professor Lesley Anderson, Chair in Health Data Science. They will work on a case-control study of a rare group of blood cancers (the MOSAICC study). Working alongside charities, researchers, healthcare practitioners and patient representatives the research assistant will contribute to a project analysing toe-nail samples collected as part of the pilot study assisting the MOSAICC study team.

You will have a research experience in laboratory science and/or public health. You should have research experience working within a laboratory setting preferably with human specimens. You should have experience of statistical analysis and project writeup.

You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good team-working, organisational and interpersonal skills.


Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £30,619 - £31,502 per annum pro rata, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
