Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Postdoc Academy (PdA) is looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Project Co-ordinator to support the efficient administration and delivery of a varied programme for postdocs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join PdA's small and dynamic team. Established in 2013 and originally known as the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, PdA is the lead organisation for postdoctoral matters in the University. It provides a range of support to postdocs including professional development, advocacy on national and HE policy, and pastoral support. PdA offers postdoc a range of established programmes and activities, and continues to develop its provision in new and exciting ways.

The role holder will be part of a small projects administration team that supports multiple PdA programmes including researcher development & learning, mentoring, Postdocs to Innovators (p2i) and Leadership Fellowship.

The Project Team ensures all aspects of the programmes are organised and deliverables are met. The tasks include preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on these plans, maintain appropriate databases and records, supports project events, workshops and conferences. The role holder will also carry out financial administration for the programmes, using Excel and the University's financial system. Prior experience using Oracle Finances will be beneficial.

While working across the programmes, the role holder will be interacting with a wide range of partners within the University and beyond. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as diplomacy will therefore be essential. Experience working in a Higher Education environment and an understanding of the postdoc experience would be helpful.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, friendly disposition and be an enthusiastic team player.
